The Father Michael Memorial Fund for Art and Music at the Abbey
Fr. Michael knew art. And he loved jazz. He had a dream that the abbey church would be a center for sacred music and the performing arts; the architecture that he so dearly admired and helped to build was to be a prime location for the arts.
So that maybe one day his vision for the abbey church and community will become a reality, we invite you to participate in The Father Michael Memorial Fund for Art and Music at the Abbey.
As you walk through the public corridors of the abbey itself, you see Fr. Michael’s handiwork- a framed painting here, a glass covered drawing there, and, yes, even an icon or two. This fund will be used to continue his commitment to the preservation of art, and envision his hope for the performance of sacred, choral and instrumental music in our fine award-winning abbey church. In our brother’s memory, we will use wisely these gifts given to the community as if they were vessels of the sacred altar.
