Fr. Paschal’s death notice

Fr. Paschal loved music. Often he sang his homilies at the abbey daily mass. And at Benet Academy, he was known as the only person who was able to get the entire student body singing for God, all 1300! Among the more favorite songs were, “This Little Light of Mine,” and “Great Things Happen When God Mixes with Us.” Fr. Paschal was once overheard to say that he started his music ministry after listening to Br. Columban’s records of Joan Baez in the 1970’s. This inspired him to learn how to play the guitar.

In the spirit of his inspirational music ministry among God’s People, the abbot and community announce “The Father Paschal Memorial Fund for Music and Ministry.” This new venture will allow monks to learn the art of music and ministry or to refresh themselves in the work of music in the liturgy.

We invite you to be part of this new venture of Christian discipleship. If you wish to honor our confrere, Fr. Paschal Honner, O.S.B., you may want to address your gift as follows:
