Fr. Paschal loved music. Often he sang his homilies at the abbey daily mass. And
at Benet Academy, he was known as the only person who was able to get the entire student body singing for God, all 1300! Among the more favorite songs were, “This Little Light of Mine,” and
“Great Things Happen When God Mixes with Us.” Fr. Paschal was once overheard to say that he started his music ministry after listening to Br. Columban’s records of Joan Baez in the
1970’s. This inspired him to learn how to play the guitar.
In the spirit of his inspirational music ministry among God’s People, the abbot and community announce “The Father Paschal Memorial Fund for Music and Ministry.” This
new venture will allow monks to learn the art of music and ministry or to refresh themselves in the work of music in the liturgy.
