As we get further into Spring, St. Procopius Abbey has a few opportunities for people to get involved with our different gardening projects.
First, we have the return of Domaci Farm Open Houses. These take place on a monthly basis, rain-or-shine. Immediately following certain Sunday Masses, the Open House is in the backyard. Visitors can visit the Instagram-famous Monastery Ducks, see the rabbits, or check out the gardening and composting projects organized by Abbot Austin. We’ll also have light refreshments available.

Second, we have the launch of Abbot Hugh’s Garden [aka AHG]. In collaboration with Nativity House, the truck garden is now up and running with the help of community volunteers. Starting April 17, Wednesdays are workdays, when we can have up to 10 volunteers help work the garden. On those Wednesdays, work in the garden will go from 5pm-6:45pm, followed by Vespers at 7pm.
To signup as a volunteer, please visit https://www.signupgenius.com/go/409094AA4AB2FA2FC1-48920507-abbot.
Or you can email Venus Wozniak at venus@nativity-house.org.
The AHG group is also planning a Sunday workday to tackle some fence and soil projects. That will be on Sunday, April 28, following 11am Mass. Email Venus at venus@nativity-house.org to register for the Sunday event.
