Abbot Austin Returns from DC

M. Mountin

Abbot Austin recently returned from Washington DC, where he participated in the March for Life on January 20, 2023. The March and its surrounding events call attention to the sanctity of human life for the unborn and work to create a culture where abortion is unthinkable.

This was the first March for Life after the overturning of Roe v. Wade, the decision in 1973 that was the occasion for the March for Life to begin. Since then, the March for Life has been the largest human rights demonstration in the world.

On Thursday evening, before the March, Abbot Austin was able to attend the Vigil for Life at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception. (https://www.nationalshrine.org/event/2023-national-prayer-vigil-for-life/).

On Saturday following the March, he attended the student-run Cardinal O’Connor Conference for Life at Georgetown University. (https://www.oconnorconference.com/)
